Cosmetic Dentistry in Del Mar

Cosmetic Dentistry in Del Mar

Maybe you've been hiding your teeth in photos, or you've noticed that years of coffee, wine, and ordinary wear have dulled a smile that used to look effortless. Maybe a single chipped front tooth catches your eye every time you look in the mirror. Whatever brought you here, cosmetic dentistry is about closing the gap between how your smile looks and how you'd like it to look — and for our Del Mar patients, we approach that work as part of the whole face, not as a set of isolated teeth.

Cosmetic dentistry covers the treatments that change the appearance of your teeth and smile: color, shape, size, alignment, and how everything frames your lips and face. In our studio that includes teeth whitening (both in-office and take-home), porcelain veneers, composite veneers, clear aligners, full smile makeovers, and All-on-4 and All-on-6 dental implants for patients missing most or all of their teeth. When bone volume needs to be rebuilt before implants can be placed, we also provide bone grafting.

What makes our approach different is that cosmetic dentistry and medical aesthetics live under one roof. Dr. Darian Anderson built this practice with Sarah Garces, NP-C, precisely because too many patients were getting veneers in one office, neurotoxins in another, and fillers in a third, with no one considering how the pieces fit together. Here, smile design can be planned alongside facial balancing, so the result reads as one coordinated plan rather than several separate procedures.

Most adults who are unhappy with the look of their smile are candidates for something — the question is which treatment, not whether treatment exists. If your teeth are healthy but stained, whitening may be all you need. If they're chipped, worn, uneven, or slightly crowded, veneers or clear aligners may be the better path. If you're dealing with widespread tooth loss, implant-supported options change the conversation entirely.

Cosmetic work sits on a foundation of oral health, so we look at the whole picture first. Our office practices across general dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, periodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and more, which means we can identify and address underlying issues rather than layering cosmetic work over problems. Del Mar patients often come to us with a specific fix in mind and leave the consultation with a clearer, and sometimes simpler, plan than they expected.

What the Process Looks Like

Everything begins with a complimentary consultation. We listen to what bothers you, examine your teeth and gums, and talk honestly about what different treatments can and can't do. We also use Digital Smile Design, a planning process that lets us map out proposed changes so you can see the direction before committing to it.

From there, the path depends on the treatment. Whitening can be a single in-office visit or a take-home system you use on your own schedule. Veneers involve preparation, design, and placement across multiple appointments. Clear aligners progress in stages over months with periodic check-ins. Implant cases are staged over a longer period, sometimes including grafting first. We'll give you the sequence and timeline for your specific plan before you begin.

  • A complimentary consultation with no pressure to commit
  • Digital Smile Design planning so you can preview the direction
  • A written sequence of visits and a realistic timeline
  • Coordination with facial aesthetics if that's part of your goals
  • Clear aftercare instructions specific to your treatment

Caring for Your Results

Cosmetic results last longer when daily habits support them. That means consistent brushing and flossing, regular cleanings and exams, and being mindful of the things that stain — coffee, tea, red wine, dark sauces. For whitening patients, touch-up trays help maintain brightness over time.

Veneers and implant restorations need protection from force. If you grind or clench at night, tell us, because an unaddressed habit can shorten the life of beautiful work. Avoid using your teeth as tools, be careful with very hard foods, and keep your routine visits. We'll walk you through the specifics for your treatment at the end of care and revisit them at follow-ups.

Payment, Financing, and Getting Started

We're an out-of-network, fee-for-service practice and do not bill insurance. That structure lets us plan treatment around what's right for your face and your goals rather than around coverage limitations. We welcome self-pay and cash patients, and we quote costs clearly before treatment begins so there are no surprises.

For patients who prefer to spread payments out, we offer financing through Cherry. We're happy to review options during your consultation.

If you live in Del Mar and have been putting this off, the consultation costs you nothing. Call our office and we'll find a time that works.
