Most people don't wake up one morning wanting "dentistry." They want to stop covering their mouth in photos, or to feel at ease leading a meeting, or to see a smile in the mirror that matches how they feel inside. A smile makeover is our answer to that — a coordinated plan that treats your smile as one connected result rather than a series of unrelated appointments.

A smile makeover combines two or more cosmetic treatments into a single, intentional design. Depending on what your teeth need, that might mean porcelain veneers to reshape and brighten the teeth that show when you talk, clear aligners to correct crowding or spacing before any restorative work begins, professional teeth whitening to establish a baseline shade, or composite veneers for more conservative changes. The point isn't to use every tool available. It's to use the right ones, in the right order, with restraint.

What makes our approach different is that we plan facial aesthetics alongside dental work. Muse exists because Dr. Darian Anderson and Sarah Garces, NP-C kept seeing the same problem: patients getting veneers at one office, neurotoxins at another, and fillers somewhere else, with no one looking at how the pieces fit together. Here, cosmetic dentistry and medical aesthetics share a roof and a treatment plan. If facial balancing with neurotoxins or dermal fillers would support your smile design, that conversation happens with both providers in the room — not as an upsell, but as part of designing your whole face.

Smile makeovers help a wide range of people, and the reasons are rarely purely cosmetic. Some patients come to us with worn or chipped edges from years of grinding. Others have teeth that have darkened with age, old bonding that no longer matches, a front tooth that sits slightly rotated, or gaps that never quite closed. We also see patients missing multiple teeth or facing full-arch replacement, where All-on-4 or All-on-6 dental implants — sometimes with bone grafting to build a stable foundation — become the starting point rather than a finishing touch.

Good candidates share a few things. Your gums and remaining teeth need to be healthy enough to support cosmetic work, which is why we evaluate function and foundation before design. You should also come in with a sense of what bothers you and what you'd like to keep. Some patients want a dramatic change; many want to look like a rested, more confident version of themselves. Both are valid, and we'd rather have that conversation honestly at the start than halfway through treatment.

How We Plan and Deliver Your Smile

Your complimentary consultation is a genuine conversation, not a sales appointment. We look at your teeth, your bite, your lips, and how your smile moves when you talk and laugh. From there, we use Digital Smile Design to preview proportions, shape, and shade before anything is permanent — so you can react to a plan you can actually see, and we can adjust while adjusting is easy.

Sequencing matters as much as the treatments themselves. Alignment usually comes before veneers, because straightening teeth first often means removing less tooth structure later. Whitening typically comes before porcelain work, since porcelain doesn't change shade once it's made. Implant foundations and grafting precede final restorations. We'll walk you through the order, the approximate timeline, and what each visit involves so there are no surprises.

Aftercare, Longevity, and Living With Your New Smile

Once your makeover is complete, the habits that protect it are refreshingly ordinary: brushing and flossing daily, keeping regular cleanings and exams, and telling us if anything feels off in your bite. A night guard is worth discussing if you clench or grind, since that's one of the most common reasons cosmetic work wears prematurely.

A few practical things to keep in mind:

  • Porcelain resists staining, but natural teeth alongside it can still darken — coffee, red wine, and tea are worth moderating
  • Take-home whitening can help maintain the shade of your natural teeth over time
  • Clear aligner retention is essential; teeth drift if retainers are set aside
  • Composite veneers may need occasional polishing or refreshing
  • Let us know promptly about chips, sensitivity, or a bite that feels uneven
