Smile Makeover in Del Mar

Maybe you've been hiding your teeth in photos for years, or you've had one tooth repaired here and another there until nothing quite matches anymore. Maybe a lifetime of wear has shortened your front teeth, or old bonding has darkened while everything around it stayed the same. Whatever brought you here, a smile makeover is our way of stepping back and looking at the whole picture instead of chasing one problem at a time. For our Del Mar patients, that means a single coordinated plan rather than a scattered series of appointments.
A smile makeover is not one procedure. It's a customized combination of cosmetic treatments planned together to change the color, shape, alignment, and proportion of your teeth — and how all of that relates to your lips, jawline, and face. Depending on what you want to change, your plan might include porcelain veneers, composite veneers, in-office or take-home teeth whitening, clear aligners to correct crowding or spacing before restorative work, or implant-supported options such as All-on-4 or All-on-6 for patients who are missing teeth or facing extensive failing dentistry. Bone grafting is available when the foundation needs to be rebuilt first.
What makes our approach different is the studio itself. Muse was built by Dr. Darian Anderson and Sarah Garces, NP-C, around a shared belief that cosmetic dentistry and facial aesthetics shouldn't be planned in separate buildings by people who never speak. Too many patients were getting veneers in one office and neurotoxins or dermal fillers in another, with no one looking at how the pieces fit together. Here, with Dr. Monica Kieu serving as Medical Director, your smile design and your facial balancing can be considered as one plan — with restraint and artistry, not a template.
Most adults who are unhappy with the appearance of their smile are candidates for some version of a makeover, though the right combination varies widely. Some Del Mar patients come to us wanting a modest refresh — whitening plus a few conservative veneers to even out chipped or uneven front teeth. Others are rebuilding after years of wear, grinding, or tooth loss and need a more comprehensive plan. We also see patients who simply want their alignment corrected first, then decide whether anything cosmetic is needed afterward.
Healthy gums and a stable foundation matter, so part of your evaluation is confirming that your teeth and supporting tissues are ready. If decay, gum issues, or bone loss need attention first, we'll tell you plainly and address it as part of the sequence. A smile makeover works best when it's built on something solid, and we'd rather slow down at the start than compromise the result.
What the Process Looks Like
Everything begins with a complimentary consultation. We listen first — what bothers you, what you've already tried, what you want your smile to do for you. From there we use Digital Smile Design to plan and preview your result, so you can see the proposed shape, length, and proportion of your teeth before treatment begins rather than imagining it.
Once you approve the design, we sequence the work in a logical order: alignment or foundational care first if needed, then whitening, then the restorative and veneer phases. You'll know what each visit involves and roughly how the stages fit together.
- A complimentary consultation with no obligation
- Digital Smile Design planning and preview of your proposed result
- A written, sequenced treatment plan tailored to your goals
- Coordinated cosmetic dentistry and facial aesthetics under one roof
- Clear conversation about timeline and cost before anything begins
Aftercare is straightforward but genuinely matters. Porcelain veneers and implant restorations are durable, not indestructible — we'll review brushing and flossing around your new restorations, discuss a nightguard if you clench or grind, and talk about foods and habits that can chip or stain your work. Regular hygiene visits protect the investment, and touch-up whitening keeps natural teeth in harmony with restorations over time.
Cost, Financing, and Getting Started from Del Mar
We are an out-of-network, fee-for-service practice and do not take insurance. That's a deliberate choice: it lets us plan treatment around your goals and the quality of the result rather than around coverage limits. We welcome self-pay and cash patients, and we quote your plan clearly before you commit to anything.
For patients who prefer to spread payments over time, we offer financing through Cherry. Many Del Mar patients find it easier to move forward once the cost is broken into predictable monthly amounts.
If you're in Del Mar, Solana Beach, Encinitas, La Jolla, or anywhere in the greater San Diego area, the consultation costs you nothing. Come in, tell us what you'd change, and let's see what's possible.
