Smile Makeover in San Diego

A chipped front tooth, years of coffee staining, teeth that have shifted since high school, an old crown that no longer matches — most people don't arrive wanting one procedure. They arrive wanting their smile to look like itself again, only better. A smile makeover is how we address all of it at once, as a single coordinated plan rather than a series of disconnected appointments. For San Diego patients who have been quietly putting off dental work for years, it's often the most practical way forward.
A smile makeover is a customized combination of cosmetic treatments planned together to improve how your teeth and your face look as a whole. It isn't a fixed package. Depending on what you need, a plan might include porcelain veneers, composite veneers, in-office or take-home teeth whitening, clear aligners to correct alignment before restorative work, or implant-supported solutions such as All-on-4 or All-on-6 when teeth are missing or failing. Bone grafting may be part of the sequence when implants are planned and the jaw needs additional support.
What makes our approach different is that we look past the teeth. Dr. Darian Anderson designs cosmetic dentistry with the whole face in mind, and Sarah Garces, NP-C, our Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner and facial balancing specialist, works in the same studio. That means treatments like neurotoxins, dermal fillers, or microneedling can be considered alongside your dental plan instead of being handled by a separate office with no visibility into your smile design. Muse was built specifically so patients wouldn't have to coordinate that themselves.
Most adults considering a smile makeover fall into a few familiar categories. Some have healthy teeth that simply look worn, dark, or uneven. Others have had piecemeal dental work over the years that no longer matches in color or shape. Some are missing teeth or facing extractions and want a full-arch solution. And some are preparing for a specific moment — a wedding, a career change, a milestone birthday — and want a defined timeline.
Good candidacy starts with oral health. Active decay, gum disease, or structural problems are addressed before cosmetic work begins, because veneers and whitening can't compensate for an unstable foundation. Our office covers a wide scope, including periodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, prosthodontics, and orthodontics, so the groundwork and the cosmetic phase can be planned in the same place. If clear aligners need to move teeth into better position first, that becomes part of the sequence rather than a reason to send you elsewhere.
What the Process Looks Like
It begins with a complimentary consultation. We listen to what bothers you, examine your teeth and gums, and talk honestly about what's realistic. Many San Diego patients come in unsure whether they want whitening, veneers, or something more involved — sorting that out is the point of the visit, and there's no cost or obligation attached to it.
From there, we use Digital Smile Design to plan your result visually before any treatment starts. Seeing a proposed smile mapped to your own face changes the conversation: you can react to shape, length, and proportion while everything is still adjustable. Once the design is approved, we sequence treatment in a clear order and give you a written plan with the full investment laid out.
- A complimentary consultation with no obligation
- Digital Smile Design preview before treatment begins
- A written, sequenced treatment plan and total cost
- Cosmetic dentistry and facial aesthetics coordinated under one roof
- Appointment scheduling built around how many visits your plan actually requires
Aftercare and Keeping Your Results
Once your makeover is complete, maintenance is straightforward but it matters. Porcelain veneers and implant restorations are cared for much like natural teeth — daily brushing and flossing, regular cleanings, and avoiding habits like chewing ice or using your teeth as tools. If you grind at night, we'll talk about protecting your investment with a nightguard.
Natural teeth continue to respond to coffee, tea, red wine, and time, so we'll discuss whether take-home whitening makes sense for upkeep. We want to see you back for routine visits, both to keep things healthy and to check that restorations still look and fit the way they should. San Diego patients who travel for work often plan these check-ins around longer visits home, and we're glad to work with that.
Payment and Financing
We're an out-of-network, fee-for-service office and do not bill insurance. Our fees are presented in full before you commit, so nothing about the cost arrives as a surprise midway through treatment.
We accept self-pay and cash patients, and we offer financing through Cherry, which lets you spread payments over time rather than paying the full amount upfront. If cost is the factor holding you back, bring it up at your consultation — we can often phase a plan so the most important work happens first.
